We are looking for a Mid-Level Network Support Specialist to provide assistance and guidance to system users in Yerevan Municipality. A Network Support Specialist is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and providing general support for the organization's computer network. The specialist will be part of the Information Technology (IT) Department and will collaborate with non-IT employees to resolve technical issues.

· Build and configure Local Area Networks (LANs), including installation of network software, firewalls and security settings for all network endpoints.
· Set up desktop computer equipment and install all network and system software, including operating systems and user software packages for new employees.
· Configure new users on the LAN, assign appropriate access permissions to authorized groups and apply security policies for new employees.
· Perform routine hardware and software maintenance on computers and other networked devices.

Անհրաժեշտ հմտություններ

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking or a related field
· At least 2–3 years of experience with networks and computer servers
· Technical knowledge of computers, servers, printers, IP phones, network devices, IP cameras, and related hardware
· Strong skills in problem solving, customer service, and task prioritization
· Experience with Windows 7, 10, 11, and Windows Server; knowledge of Linux operating systems
Linux Systems
· Distributions: Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian
· Services: SSH, NGINX/Apache, Samba, NFS, DNS, DHCP
· Scripting and Tools: Bash scripting, cron jobs, log analysis (journalctl, dmesg, etc.)
Windows Server
· Versions: Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022
· Services: Active Directory (AD), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Group Policy Management
Networking & Security
· Protocols and Technologies: TCP/IP, VLANs, Static Routing, NAT, Port Forwarding, Firewalls
· VPNs: OpenVPN, WireGuard, L2TP/IPsec
Monitoring, Backup & Deployment
· Monitoring Tools: Zabbix, Windows Event Logs
· Backup Tools: rsync, Veeam, etc.
· Version Control: Git
· Network Diagnostics: Nmap, traceroute, ping, netstat, etc.

Virtualization
· Intermediate experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi, Virtualbox, Microsoft HyperV, Oracle VirtualBox
· Create, manage, and monitor virtual machines (VMs)
· Understand datastore, vSwitch/network configuration, and resource allocation
· Perform basic snapshot, backup, and VM cloning operations
Databases
· Practical knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL
· Perform routine database backups (e.g., mysqldump, mariabackup, pg_dump)
· Ability to restore data from backups
· Perform user management, permission configuration, and schema analysis
· Diagnose and resolve common database issues: connection errors, slow queries, startup failures
· Perform service management tasks: start/stop/restart services, log analysis
· Support database integration, monitor performance, and ensure data integrity
Typical Responsibilities
· Manage and monitor Linux- and Windows-based servers and desktops
· Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
· Provide Linux desktop support (both remote and on-site)
Configure file sharing using Samba and NFS, as well as printer management.
